Description of the route

Carrera trail con salida y llegada en la localidad de Zegama.
Se trata de una maratón de Montaña de 42195 metros que discurre por el macizo de Aratz y la Sierra de Aizkorri. Corona cuatro cimas que son de las más altas del País Vasco (Aratz, Aizkorri, Aitxuri y Andraitz). El punto más bajo del recorrido es Zegama (296m) donde se dá el pistoletazo de salida y donde finaliza la Maratón. El pico más alto nos lo encontramos a mitad de recorrido el Aitxuri (1551m). Tiene un desnivel acumulado de 5472 metros. Desnivel positivo de 2750m. La carrera discurre por caminos y senderos de una belleza increíble, combinando zonas de bosque, con senderos y lo que realmente hace característica a esta carrera, sus zonas escarpadas de roca que convierten a la prueba en una carrera de montaña muy técnica y de una dificultad muy alta.
La edición de 2021 ha sido virtual, debido a la pandemia del covid, pudiendo elegir entre hacerla completa o por partes. Yo la hice en dos partes, por eso sale como tiempo empleado 58 días.
El recorrido es de 42 km (maratón de montaña) pero yo me despisté un par de veces y me salió un recorrido total de 44 km con 2881 m de desnivel positivo.
